An Evening of Fine Art, Food, & Wine with Artist Jean Claude Roy at @GrandBoOrlando!

Recently I had the pleasure of attending a media event at The Grand Bohemian Hotel to experience an inventive evening showcasing The Boheme’s talented Executive Chef Laurent Hollaender. Joining us was world-famous Kessler signature artist, Jean-Claude Roy, the inspiration behind this sensational evening.

The evening comprised of reception with Jean at the Grand Bohemian Gallery, followed by the property tour, five-course dinner with wine pairing exclusively created by Executive Chef Laurent, including dessert with Kesseler signature artist Jean-Claude Roy.

Jean-Claude Roy was born on the west coast of France and began painting before he was 10. After several years at sea, with much time spent in the ports of Newfoundland, his artistic interest turned to landscape. A completely self-taught and enormously prolific artist, he works most frequently in oils with a palette knife to create dramatic and color-saturated canvases. He now divides his time, with wife Christina Roy, between Newfoundland and his hometown of Rochefort-sur-Mer, France. He also works in acrylic, watercolor, and does some sculpture.

The Grand Bohemian Galleries were established by hotelier and art enthusiast Richard Kessler to display original and rare pieces of artwork ranging from oil paintings, glass, wood, contemporary jewelry, bronze sculptures and unique gift items. Concentrating the aesthetic experience, and an exclusive feature of The Kessler Collection, each Grand Bohemian Gallery is an impressive collection of art, housed in eight of The Kessler Collection hotels. The Grand Bohemian Gallery collections are comprised of internationally and locally renowned artists. Each Grand Bohemian Gallery location hosts monthly art exhibitions and frequently offers receptions where patrons have the unique opportunity to meet each artist individually. For more information about Grand Bohemian Gallery locations, other featured artists, exhibits and events, please visit their website.

Celebrated as an experience in art and music, the AAA Four Diamond Grand Bohemian Hotel, a signature Kessler Collection property, takes center stage as downtown Orlando’s landmark luxury icon. From the moment guests arrive, a dazzling blend of art, music and memorable hospitality immerse the senses. From the Italian mosaic tiled barrel-vaulted ceilings to the jester-like statues upon entry, an oasis of sheer beauty welcomes visitors to enjoy the unprecedented collection of more than 150 rare works of art. Located moments away from downtown’s cultural gems, as well as Orlando’s magical theme parks, Grand Bohemian fosters a setting that celebrates creativity and inspires the soul.

The gorgeous property was captured through the lens of the talented Mr. Trung Nguyen of The Bokeh Studio. Check out his extensive portfolio and contact details for bringing the magic in your next event on his website. The delightful tour was conducted by GM David Friederich and Director of Food and Beverage René Nyfeler. What a treat!

Following the exclusive tour, we were treated to a five course meal inspired by the artistic elements of Jean at The Boheme, the AAA Four-Diamond restaurant. Executive Chef Laurent Hollaender tantalized us with French inspired cuisine paired with fine French wines. A picture is worth a thousand words, so I am going to let these stunning photographs taken by The Bokeh Studio do justice to the decadent creations of Executive Chef Laurent.
