Breaking Bread for with Cristina Ferrare!

The Gods of Luck recently were on my side as  I was honored by receiving my very own personally signed copy of Cristina Ferrare‘s new cookbook Big Bowl of Love.  As I was browsing through the book, I saw too many recipes I would like to create in my kitchen. As Cristina’s heritage is Italian and since Italian cuisine is one of my families favorite, I decided to cook a three course meal for our family #sundaysupper. After all, all you need is love and a bit of help from Cristina!

My three course meal includes:

  • Tomato Mozzarella Tower with Shallot Bacon Dressing
  • Chicken Marsala with Angel Hair Pasta
  • Melon Medley with Lemon Sorbet

Tomato Mozzarella Tower with Shallot Bacon Dressing

Heirloom tomatoes are one of my favorite guilty indulgences especially during summer when they are the ripest and juiciest. Cristina’s recipe calls for a bacon-shallot dressing which enhances the textural play of this salad. Nice touch!

Chicken Marsala with Angel Hair Pasta

Chicken Marsala is the quintessential Italian dish we have all experimented with in our kitchens. Cristina’s version adds red peppers to this dish which comes together quite well in this chicken dish.

Melon Medley with Lemon Sorbet

Summer is the ideal time to appreciate sorbets and gelatos. I have so many fond memories from my various travels to Italy. I ate gelato and sorbet in each city I visited. Cristina’s Melon Medley is a fantastic option for ending your meal on a refreshing and light note, especially after a big meal. I used a combination of lemon and blood orange sorbet for my dessert. And since Cristina’s book is titled ‘Big Bowl of Love’, I ended the delightful evening with some love!!

Cristina Ferrare’s cookbooks are readily available in books stores and online.  Buon Appetito!!
