Ceviche Tapas Bar: Love at First Bite!

Ceviche is perched at the edge of historic Church street and is an ideal way to start the party for the weekend. Have dinner here, hop across to the Dessert Lady to finish, and burn off the calories in one of the many clubs the street.

Being a Saturday night close to Valentines day, Ceviche unsurprisingly was crawling with young lovers whispering sweet nothings over the excellent Tapas. The energy was palpable and one would be forgiven to believe you were in Madrid rather than Orlando. It really is a slice of Spain brought home by the owners for us to enjoy.

The Sangria boosted with brandy is a heady start to the evening. While that is being drummed up in front of you, dig into the complimentary cilantro pesto and fresh bread. The garlic and olive oil works its magic, and it is difficult not to try to wolf it down. Filling yourself up with it, would be a mistake since the best is yet to come.

The personal attention from the staff (special mention to Luis Ramos) and owners combined with the passion they have for making the experience truly memorable. They are proud of their food and rightly so.

A few of my favorites to order are the Table Mixta, Patatas Bravas (easily one of the best on earth), Lamb Shanks (that melt in your mouth), Piquillos Rellenos and of course the sweetbreads (which taste anything but that), and finally the Chicken Pate’ which is certainly one of the best I have ever tasted. The creamy texture and hint of dry sherry brings out the gentle sweetness of the dish. With over 100 dishes on the menu, there is something for every palate here. If this restaurant wont put you over the rainbow, I wouldn’t know what will. Go party.
