Clearwater Beach Uncorked is proud to announce its third annual food and wine beachside extravaganza to be held on February 8th and 9th, 2014, from 1p.m. to 5p.m., beachside in front of the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa.
Acclaimed event producer, Tammy Gail, was inspired to create a high-end luxury affair to showcase the marvel and beauty of Florida’s West Coast. She says of her vision, “The oil spill seriously impacted the area and it was our mission and goal to once again put Clearwater Beach on the map as a premier vacation spot and foodie destination.” This year, Bright House, Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa, Publix, the City of Clearwater, Visit St. Pete Clearwater, Gulf Seafood, Clearwater Beach Chamber, Clearwater Regional Chamber, and Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber will join together to present Clearwater Beach Uncorked and welcome an anticipated 5,500 guests for this two-day gastronomic affair.
Clearwater Beach Uncorked will offer the perfect pre-Valentine’s Day beach weekend filled with an extensive array of sweet and savory samplings complemented by an impressive selection of wines, spirits and craft beers from around the globe. South Gulf-view Boulevard’s transformation will encourage guests to venture between the one-of-a-kind Uncorked Spirits Beach Bar and the Grand Tasting Village to meet and mingle with wine specialists, vintners & brew masters, and the areas best and brightest chefs. The Grand Tasting Village will include delicious samplings from the area’s top restaurants, wine from over 100 wineries and an exciting array of micro-brews and craft beers. Guests can also slip away to the Uncorked Spirits Beach Club to capture a breath taking view and sample spirits that will satisfy any tastemaker’s palate. This year a Decadent Dessert tent will showcase Bubbles on the Beach featuring bubbles, sweets, pastries and all things rich and gooey just in time for Valentine’s Day. Clearwater Beach Uncorked will be a weekend-long epicurean experience allowing guests to explore the relaxed and delicious facets of Clearwater Beach.
The Gulf Coast has made tremendous strides since overcoming the oil spill that critically affected the area’s tourism. Visit St. Petersburg Clearwater received funding from BP Oil through the Deepwater Horizon Settlement and Clearwater Beach Uncorked received financial support in an effort to build tourism on the beach. The grant will assist the event to attract foodies, wine connoisseurs, beach lovers and travelers to discover the culinary mastery and laid back luxury only found on Clearwater Beach.
Guests will have the option of purchasing general admission tickets for $85 or opt for a premium VIP experience, available on Saturday, for $125. VIP access will grant epicureans and influencers an exceptional VIP area with exclusive restaurants and reserve wines, single malt whiskeys and rare scotches. They will also receive an extravagant Clearwater Beach Uncorked swag bag with the latest in food, fashion and beauty. Tickets are currently on sale at www.clearwaterbeachuncorked.com.
Clearwater Beach Uncorked will donate a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales to the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee College of Hospitality and Technology Leadership. Funds will be used to develop academic programs, scholarships, research grants and campus infrastructure. Clearwater Beach Uncorked has also partnered with USFSM’s College of Hospitality and Technology Leadership to implement an educational component incorporating Clearwater Beach Uncorked into the student’s Fall curriculum. Students are competing against each other to develop unique marketing initiatives and the winners’ ideas will be implemented at this year’s event.
