Delicate & Sublime – The Crepe Company Food Truck

Orlando Food Truck Bazaar debuted in March of this year. Since then, the Food Truck Revolution has hit Orlando with lightening speed, gaining in popularity to such an extent that now at the very least 3-4 times a week, one can visit these bazaars.

I chose Lake Nona Food Truck Bazaar as my very first as they had 19 food trucks attending. I do relish my variety. I was pretty impressed with the variety however ultimately for me; the true test lies in taste. We initiated our hunt by taking a stroll; making selections based primarily on uniqueness and ethnicity.

It was relatively easy to spot The Crepe Company. Their elegant street style specialty crepe cart was reminiscent of my various travels to Paris and London. Personally, for me, a crepe if made right is light, healthy, and can be eaten at any time of the day. Keeping that philosophy in mind, I stopped at The Crepe Company’s cart midway of my evening.

They were offering both savory and sweet crepes.  Craving something light yet sweet to cleanse my palate from the various exploits so far, I stayed on the simpler side and ordered the Nutella and Banana Crepe; a staple favorite in the streets of Europe.

I was in awe watching Ms. Martek’s limber wrists make perfect crepes with diligent expertise. It is a work of art trying to make crepes in front of a live audience and she had it narrowed down to a science.  I noticed that they used the same batter for both savory and sweet crepes. They stick to a traditional basic batter which in my humble opinion, is the ideal canvas to create an assortment of flavors.

My crepe was light, delicate, and had just the right amount of filling; beautifully presented and delicious.

The Crepe Company can be contacted via their website. They can be found on Twitter and FB too. Aside from food truck bazaars, they also cater to weddings and private events.

To me, a crepe is the ideal ending to my meal. I look forward to tasting more of their menu, hopefully soon.
