Get Your Pink On: 6 Ways To Eat Pink This October! #‎FHPinkArmy‬

A cause that hits home; my own mom is a breast cancer survivor. Woohoo!!

Get ready to paint your palate pink!

October is upon us and thus begins National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women, but can often be treated if detected early on. This month, local restaurants are promoting pink to create awareness and raise funds for the cause.

At The Osprey Tavern (4899 New Broad Street, Orlando, FL) try the beautiful Florida Thyme, a Chopin vodka cocktail with Cointreau, lime, thyme-lavender syrup and Peychaud’s Bitters. Proceeds will benefit the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation.

Supporting the American Cancer Society this month is Bento Café . You can choose to make any one of their sushi rolls pink for just one additional dollar by using pink soy paper. All proceeds from the add ons will go to benefiting the organization.

Dragonfly (7972 Via Dellagio Way, Orlando, FL) will be offering the Pink Soldier, a twist on the local favorite Godzilla. This special sushi roll features smoked eel, snow crab, cream cheese, cucumber, scallions, avocado, strawberry and eel sauce. For every $13 Pink Soldier sold, $2 will be donated to the Pink Army with Florida Hospital.

Also in partnership with the Pink Army, 4 Rivers Smokehouse is bringing mammogram buses to their Winter Park location (1600 West Fairbanks Avenue, Winter Park, FL) on October 2, where women can be screened for early detection. Call 407-303-1615 to schedule an appointment. All mammogram recipients will receive a 4 Rivers/Pink Army T-shirt. In addition, The Sweet Shop will sweeten your month with the Pink Velvet Pomegranate cupcake for $3.75 where all of the proceeds will be donated to the Pink Army.

The Coop (610 West Morse Boulevard, Winter Park, FL) is offering a cool flip on traditional flapjacks with Pink Pancakes from 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. on October 3. Proceeds to benefit Pink Army with Florida Hospital.

Taverna Opa (9101 International Drive, Orlando, FL) and Tapa Toro (8441 International Drive, Orlando, FL) will keep their guests fighting to “beet” breast cancer with pink water. By using beets to naturally produce a pink hue, everyone is able to join the cause by purchasing the $1 glasses. Show your support for Pink Army with Florida Hospital by drinking pink!
